Cutting abuse and raising standards - 02 November 2011
UK Border Agency have significantly raised the standards education providers must meet before they can bring international students to the UK
04 July 2011 – Work entitlements restricted to migrants studying at higher educational institutions (HEIs) and publicly funded further education colleges.
13 June 2011 - Revised Immigration Rules came into effect.
21 April 2011 - English Language requirement
B2 is the appropriate level for those coming to study at level 6 and above. B1 is the appropriate level for lower courses. UK Border Agency Officers will be able to refuse a migrant who cannot speak without an interpreter.

The UK Border Agency has today stopped accepting visa applications for Tier 1 (General) applications made overseas.
Secure English language tests for
Tier 4 - 11 August 2010
Secure English language testing will be mandatory for adult students studying below degree level (excluding those on foundation degrees or English language courses) under Tier 4 of the Points Based System.
This test must be taken with a UK Border Agency-approved provider before the applicant applies for a confirmation of acceptance for studies (CAS) from the education sponsor.
Visa Applications
It is important that you submit your visa application in good time. To enable you to do this you can apply for your visa within 3 months of the start date of your intended course. For courses longer than 6 months your visa will be valid for travel from 1 month prior to the start date of the course.
False documents
You must provide the correct documents with your application form. Applicants will be automatically refused and may be banned from coming to the UK for 10 years if they use a false document.
